Do you remember the summer fun list we shared in June to help fill our summer passports? Well, the first thing we stamped off was Babby Farms. This is the best hands on experience we've ever had with animals.
My cousin, Bridger, and his fiance, Camille, work there so we were able to get the special family treatment. Or maybe it's the completely normal treatment, but it makes me feel good to call it special.
Two highlights - One, although my favorite animal is still an anteater, the sloth slid in there for a close second. Do you know they sleep up to 70% of the day and only poop every five days? This would be the perfect pet for a lazy owner like me, and we're kind of kindred spirits, except I only wish I could sleep 70% of the day and I'm way more regular than I used to be.(Aren't you glad you know that? Eat healthy. You'll poop more.) Plus, when my cousin Bridger woke it up to greet us (it's back facing our direction) the sloth tilted its head backwards and gave us a sleepy smile. I sighed happily out loud. It was that cute.
Second, the Baby really is one with lemurs. Awhile ago this guy from church said to The Beloved, "You're daughter (the Baby) looks so much like your wife. Those big eyes! Wow. Just like a lemur." We laugh about his story often, now referring to me as, Mama Lemur, and the Baby as, Baby Lemur. So, our little Baby Lemur had the chance to meet a real lemur, and the lemur was smitten with her; giving her kisses, holding her hand, and caressing her face. Adorable.
