My sister Shannon came down for a visit the last week of summer to get my poor asthmatic nephew away from the horrible WA wildfires. They (her and her kiddos plus nephew Hyrum) arrived in ID to a little cleaner air and we decided to head up above the smoke to Idaho City for a carefree day in the mountains.
This is my kind of getaway.
First, we hiked around the old Pioneer Cemetery where graves date back before the 1800's. Second, we got lost for about 5 minutes in the Pioneer Cemetery. Third, we hoped the kids didn't notice. Fourth - No one got a tick! Hallelujah.
Next, we found a perfect creek for everyone to throw on their swimsuits and play in. The Best.
We ended our day engulfing some refreshing scoops of ice cream while basking in that glorious, fresh air sunshine.

After the kids were in bed that evening we went to my parents house, who were out of town, to feed their fish, get their mail, etc.
We saw a couple of sticky note pads innocently sitting there and we thought it best to leave messages galore all around my parents house - as a welcome home present. :) It was fun.
We love you Mom and Dad!
