Doesn't it work this way at your house?
I am going to pretend that our children are really this interested and involved in our nightly family scripture study. That Little C's eyes are always this animated instead of rolling back and forth asking if we're done yet. That Lou always feels like the words are jumping out of the page and never can be found practicing his new cool somersaults on the ground.
That Ruckus should never have been named Ruckus at all because he always sits so obediently on his daddy's lap.
I am going to pretend that these pictures weren't staged and taken for our Ward Christmas party slide show.
Because this is really how family scripture study is at our house.
Every night....
.... in my dreams.

Just give yourself kudos that you try. If it isn't always this picture perfect, these sweet little spirits somehow remember these moments, perhaps not the actual words, but the feeling that is in your home. I think you are just the sweetest and funniest little mother a kid could ever want or have.
I'll pretend ours are just like that too. Most of the time I think we are talking to ourselves during scripture study. Once, Nathan offered someone $100 if they could repeat the last word he said. No one could. So now when he is finished, everyone yells the last couple words just in case he offers again. Ha ha. At least they are listening to the last word now. Right?
