It's interesting going through life's routine.
I find myself trying to observe the moment a little bit more. To enjoy it - realizing - this is my life. Right now, this second - my life.
Examples:
I made lumpy mush the other day for my kids. They loved it.
I loved lumpy mush when I was little and making it for my children made me feel like my own mother.
I loved feeling that way.
In Sacrament meeting Little C and The Beloved will have thumb wars together. It makes me proud of The Beloved.
Isn't that just what Dads are supposed to do?
I loved sitting by Dad in sacrament meeting when I was growing up - whether it was just his big comfy shoulder to lean on or a hot thumb war game - I always wanted dibs by dad's seat.
Past memories and creating memories -
It's tender to watch the roles change.
Our most recent new parental experience:
An All Day Sporting Event
Little C has decided to be a wrestler.
Wow - look at that intimidation :)
"How little?"
I tried giving him a proper explanation but he became very concerned.
"Mom, is my bum going to hang out?"
Stifling a laugh I did my best to calm his fears - but upon receiving his uniform he immediately drew the conclusion that it looked more like a 3T than something for a 7 year old boy.
So he had to try it on Gadashio -
Older brother teaching younger brother some moves -
Little C did so well and I am sure he'll do even better at the next one.
Observations:
#1 -I watched little and big boys cry (which wrenched my heart out) -
but then I watched the dads embrace their sons to comfort them - which tugged at my heart even more.
#2 - Gyms get HOT! Especially when holding a 20 lbs baby. Wear apparel that can easily be removed - not sweatshirts you get stuck in.
#3 - Supporting a child and watching them try their hardest is an amazing feeling.
Way to go Little C!

For having a mom that is a huge basketball fan I have to say way to go! I'm so proud of you guys! Little C you look legit! I would have given a lot to have been their to watch. I need a good sporting event. A few more years I and will love to become an all day event mom too! PS go wrestling mom!! Wahoo!
I know that "lol" is overrated and sometimes used when you're not really "lol", but that sweatshirt picture totally made me lol!!!!! I have a sweatshirt like that! Jason stood and laughed at me and wouldn't help me out of it one day! Stupid sweatshirts!
You were holding your baby while working out???? You go girl!
Once again, a great belly laugh. Thanks!
You describe it so well! All those memories of all-day sporting events, and then you are too old to go up the bleachers. Getting there faster than I care to think about. Thanks for the memories... Little C has a great future!
Ryan refused to wrestle in high school because of those little suits, although I think he would have been a good wrestler. Where did the muscles go? ha ha j/k
Your kids are so cute. I love that curly hair. I am trying to just enjoy the moments as well. I keep finding myself wishing my kids life away by thinking "Oh I can't wait til they are in school full time" etc.. etc... I am trying to just enjoy the moment.
