My Talented Beloved Spouse

So, I am totally one of those people whose talents aren't quite so obvious to the outside world - or to myself at times - but since I am here to develop them I am always curious to discover what they may be... it takes work my friends.
But, then there are those "other obnoxious folk" whose talents just jump out of them like there's no tomorrow... and gosh wouldn't you know, I am married to one of them. The Beloved Spouse just created a blog to display some of his artwork -just go to pattonartist.blogspot.com to see this lovely obnoxious fellow at his best.
Love Ya!

*** No hard feelings Beloved Spouse. You truly are a blessing and I am counting on my encouragement of your talents to compensate for my lack thereof. Thanks! ***

Explanation...

The post below needs a little explanation - the truth is, the Beloved Spouse and I were up a little too late last night- Practically unheard of, I know- Anyway, we had decided that we wanted to post something together, but were having issues with our camera/computer connection. So, the Beloved Spouse started fooling around with some of our vacation pictures from last summer. We came across some lovely clips of the Beloved Spouse's brother and his new little wife - Somehow when we clicked on the picture it opened in the Paint Program - What would you do? Could you resist the temptation? Have you ever painted on your relatives? Don't knock it until you try it - It is quite an enjoyable experience, especially at one o'clock in the morning...
Oh yes, by the way, don't be offended Beloved Spouse's brother or his new little wife. - you just happened to be the random victims that popped up on our screen.

Proof that there is a person out there for everyone.

We're not sure how these people found each other, but we are glad they have someone to love...
We just hope they don't reproduce!!!

Coming from a family of all girls, and then being the mother of only boys, sometimes can leave me in the dark. Please see below....
I had no idea the girl to boy ratio in a dance class would be so enormous. It wasn't just that he was the only boy in his class - ...at his dance recital we realized that he was the only boy in the whole studio!
Afterward, Little C gave me a talking to, but he couldn't get too upset because he's not one to diss on the attention from the ladies. We are talking about the kid, who when traveling on a airplane with Papa and I, leaned over and gave Papa the thumbs up stating, "Wow, check out Papa! That girl next to him is HOT!"
So, now I am aware of trying to add more manly things into our day. And I guess being a pirate is perfectly acceptable ... When I was younger I had been raised to believe that Halloween costumes were only worn on Halloween. This rule is completely incorrect - ...and what's with this? What a Ham my friends, what a Ham!
And we really get down to business when tool time begins -
I can definitely get used to these little sweethearts - but -
I still have no clue what goes on in that shower -

Papa and Buckabu are a Ball!

Look at those three little cuties!

We have acrobats in the family

Whose smile is bigger?

You Know You're a Red Neck If...

You're experimenting with Tats, especially one of this nature, at the ripe age of 6 1/2 months. In his defense, he does uphold the proper body type for men supporting this particular kind of art work very well. Behold the talented artist below!
And did you read what his shirt says...
"Most of the people that drive me nuts are in my family"-
I am almost positive he couldn't possibly be referring to me... I am very optimistic in my thinking that I am entirely delightful.

On another note, putting socks on your head probably removes you from the red neck realm into, quite frankly, just being odd.Maybe this is why the Beloved Spouse sports the attire seen above. But, what else are you supposed to do with all those socks who have lost their mates? You guys put them on your heads and take pictures too right?

Mother: aka Professional Feces Cleanup Operator

With Mother's Day around the corner I thought I would type up a lovely little piece on the importance of being a mother, but after reading my dear sister's blog on Sunday, I realized that she had summed it up perfectly and her eloquent words would be incredibly hard to compete with.

So, I decided to take another route, one that would be self gratifying and make me appreciate the joys of motherhood. I was going to observe my interaction with my children to a T, making every moment count, while basking in the company of these two darling little blessings.

And, that my friends, is when all H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS broke loose... I won't take up your time with detail overload, but let me provide you with some famous quotes of the day...

Monday - Mom, that was so cool when I was in the bathroom and I had held my poop for so long that it just blasted out once I started pushing like this GGHHHHHHHAAAA! (Little C provided everyone in Desert Book with this update after using their facilities).

Tuesday - Mom, you are ruining my life! (Little C was performing his chores and I had decided to help him a little bit by folding a blanket. Ultimately, I guess this resulted in me ruining his life).

Wednesday - Mom, I pooped, I pooped, and it is squishing out everywhere! (Little C has been somewhat constipated and has decided that if he holds it long enough, he will then be able to, yes you guessed it, blast it out. Unfortunately, he had held it for a little too long and it had decided to blast out all on its very own, in my car).

Lessons to be learned:

* Some underwear is not worth saving
*Never buy a brand new car
*Don't buy pre-made cookie dough. You'll down it all in self medication.
*Give your own mother a big hug when she cleans up the second blow out of the day, that was provided by your 5 month old - granted a 5 yr old's poop is in a whole different arena than a 5 month old's poop
*Remind yourself that your children are miracles
*After a few days, the constant smell of feces should leave the interior of your nostrils
*Always have a Pepsi on hand
*Sometimes you may not enjoy the moment, but isn't great to smile at the memory?

All jokes set aside...

My husband and I recently decided that I should stay at home with our children. After being a loan officer and working for the same company for five years, this was a very difficult transition for me. Yet so rewarding...

Instead of my big office and a receptionist to take my calls... I can wake up and cuddle my two little kids longer, who have somehow magically appeared in our king size bed. (okay the baby is too young to sneak, I guess I sometimes just have to steal him from his bed and bring him to ours)

Instead of shaking someones hand and telling them how much we appreciate their business... I can give my five year old son the thumbs up sign after watching him pass Level 2 in swim lessons.

Instead of watching the various loan awards appear on my office wall... I can enjoy my fresh cut bouquet of dandelions my children have put out on display.

Instead of the CEO telling me that he appreciates my excellent member service skills... I get to hear, "You're so weird mom, but your the best mom in the world."

Instead of observing a trainee's glee at finally grasping a change in loan policy... I can smile, and realize that I am truly making a difference, when Little C reminds us to have family scripture and prayer.

Being a mother truly is a blessing. And I have no problem trading in my old job title for the new one... Professional Feces Cleanup Operator... with years of experience....

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mothers -and especially to my very own!

Confession #4 - We Love Our Boys

Aren't They Handsome?
Little C and the Baby
Life...

From the Babies perspective:
Lately, I have been a little concerned about my neck. My mom promises me it's there, even though it hasn't been visible the majority of my life. Here are a few things I do to "keep on keepin' on" -(for you older folk, that basically means "to help me move forward in life".)

I like to ...
Sleep
(rolls are an okay substitution for necks, right?) Cheese it Up
Hang with Little Grandpa
Play with cousins, or should I say, they like to play with me - or maybe just my head
Sucking on my arm is totally awesome...
Plus, it leaves really cool marks
I guess being neckless isn't that bad after all. I mean, they keep taking my photo, so I must be as cute as I think I am.
From Little C's Perspective:
Basically, I am the coolest kid in town. My mom is trying to teach me a new word called HUMILITY - but, I'm not really sure what that means. I'm a pretty magnificent sport though... See for yourself ...

I do facial masks with my mom, how embarrassing, but she loves it. Plus, I kind of look like the Hulk. I do enjoy changing my attire throughout the day. Morning, afternoon, and evening, you'll catch me in various ensembles - I have a very extensive vocabulary... my cousin taught me a three letter word beginning with S the other day. My mom said something under her breath like, "Oh my *(being my mom)* poor aunts and uncles... what did I put them through?" I have no idea what she was talking about. But, she wanted me to say she's sorry. My parents are pretty cool about letting me spice up my hair. Red, blue, and green are frequented atop my head - except on Sundays - I am still workin' on them for that one... mom tells me to "Keep on dreaming!"The baby is an okay playmate -beside the fact he can't walk or talk - but he's come a long way in the last 5 1/2 months, so here's hoping for more progress.
Gosh, I love to school Papa! No offense Papa, but my moves are about 60 decades hotter. I hope Papa knows it's opposite day, otherwise I'm in big trouble.
My cousins are totally off the hook! They know all of the amazing super hero games.
This one is especially my good buddy. He says it's okay for cousins to be buddies. And I believe him, because he just turned seven - he tells me that seven year olds know more than five year olds. Which is understandable.
This is us, walking to
and from the park.
The photographer is my oldest cousin. She's pretty cool, for a girl.

Sometimes, I do enjoy being the entertainer in my own backyard.
Everybody attends - The A List usually consists of Spider Man, Mr. Doodle, some birds, and Smokey the Dino.
Once in a while human company shows up too. And when all is said and done, I just kick back and enjoy some 60 degree rays.
